The Southerners Men’s Rugby team on their latest tour to Saigon 2017

Rugby men from across the world proudly wear the Southerners jersey – Thailand, United Kingdom, North America, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Japan and (ahem) France are among the many nations to fly their flag at the club. We even accept gingers.

We tour across Thailand and the rest of Asia, love smashing it up on the pitch, and enjoy good servings of froth and banter on the weekend.  We play 15s, 10s and 7s formats and have both Open and Vets sides (over 35’s). We also play Rugby League both 13s and 9s formats.

Training is at NIST International School on Sukhumvit Soi 15 on Thursdays, 7:15 PM (Nana BTS).

New to rugby?  We’ve converted Gaelic and Australian footballers, Rugby League players, American footballers, and a surprising number of ex-wrestlers to the code.

So if you’re in Bangkok and want to get involved, email Darrel our Rugby Coordinator – despite being a Welshman with far too much man-love for Nigel Owens, he’s alright.

You can also visit our sponsoring pub, the Clubhouse, for a beer – tell Tony you’re with us.

Southerners Women’s Rugby

The Southerners Women’s Rugby team was formed in June 2016 and is continuing to recruit new members and grow. Women’s rugby in Asia is continuing to develop and the number of tournaments and friendly matches available in the region makes it an exciting time to be a part of this wonderful sport. Training is on a Sunday, 5.30-7:00 PM at NIST International School (Sukhumvit Soi 15).

We are always open to new members, no matter their level of experience.  We have converted gaelic footballers, hockey and netball players who have also decided to give rugby a try (pun intended…).

If you want to get involved, contact Laura our Women’s Rugby Coordinator for details.
