This is the team that won the Div 1 BNL
Starting the season with the loss of a few players, the comeback of others and a shakeup of positions, Southerners Black have literally pulled it together to become Division 1 Bangkok League champions for 2011-12!
Great games have been played throughout the season with the arch rivals Lawton A being of course the most hyped up matches. The final saw Southerners take on Lawton A; down by 5 goals at half time but remaining confident they could pull it together and fight till the end! Battling (and literally in some areas) through the 3rd quarter, gaining ground and finally taking the lead during the final quarter, resulting with an incredible win of 44 – 37!
Unfortunately again this year we will be saying farewell to one of the most fearless players on court. Holly Burgess has been a key player in the team no matter where she’s been placed and will be missed by us all. Finally a huge shout out to our Southerners supporters who have kept us on our toes on court! Cheers guys and see you next season!
