Dear Southerners & friends of the Club,
It’s hard to believe that another ‘Southerners’ year has almost come and gone!
On Friday 21st March we would like to invite all Southerners members & Friends of the club to join us at AmBar (Four Points Hotel) for the Southerners Annual General Meeting (AGM) & the official 20th Anniversary Launch Party – there will be a bar tab from 7pm until it runs out – to be followed by 2-4-1 drinks!
This comes the time for the current committee to stand-down and for the new committee to be appointed for 2014-15.
It is also a great time to get everyone together to celebrate the achievements of Southerners 20 years in Bangkok as a successful expat sporting and social club and to raise a glass or two to the current & new committee!
Who and what is the Southerners Committee?
Unbeknown to most, the Committee does a lot of work behind the scenes to keep the club functioning successfully – all in their own time above and beyond own work & family commitments.
We have sports coordinators – Darrel, Jenny, Linda & Vaughan – managing and ensuring that teams are involved in all sport league opportunities here in Bangkok, organising tournaments and tours both locally, as well as further afield around Southeast Asia.
We also have committee members who have worked hard this past year to develop sponsorship partnerships with a number of local businesses to ensure Southerners remains financially sound, organised all of the Club events which have taken place throughout the year (TGIF’s, North V South Funday & of course the Annual Southerners Ball) and ensured Southerners remains the most talked about Sports Clubs in Bangkok!
As the current committee steps down – there will be a number of positions available so please get in touch if you have any questions or are interested in joining a great team to guide Southerners through the 2014-15 year!
We plan for the AGM to be reasonably short and sweet – please come on down and support the Club – we’ll make it worth your while with a bar tab from 7pm, free food and of course 2-4-1 drinks to continue our launch party throughout the night! Everyones a winner!
