For the third year running, the Southerners South-East Asian Netball Invitational was a huge success!

In the early hours of Saturday 18th September there certainly were a few nerves to be seen around the courts as teams prepared for the first round of games being played at NIST.   Teams were clearly ‘sussing’ out the competition on court during round one but once the tournament was underway, those nerves were quickly replaced with adrenalin – energy levels started running at a high as the competition got off to a magnificent start!

With seven teams battling it out for the trophy, the games were fast and the standard certainly high – definitely keeping umpires busy trying to keep up with the pace of the games but all done in fairness and high spirits!

With each team prepared to play six games throughout the day, fitness and energy levels were being tested through to the end, with Singapore NZCC Wahines coming out with top points and winning a well played tournament for 2010!

Special thanks to all umpires, Shivy for controlling the officials desk and Southerners for organising yet another awesome tournament!

Until next year…
